Joanna Sternberg has announced a 2024 tour set to take place early next year. The short U.S. run begins on February 23 in Vashon Island, Washington, and ends with a performance at Utah’s Kilby Block Party in May. Sternberg has also released a new single titled “Without You,” which you can listen to below.
“Without You” was written “in an attempt at writing a 1920s style jazzy number,” complete with scatting midway through the song. Sternberg, who went to college for jazz double bass, said they will always try to continue writing in this style. “This song is meant to be sung in a sort of half-joking manner and the tempo is meant to keep speeding up throughout the song to show the emotion I am trying to convey: nervousness from co-dependent attachment to something or someone you love,” said Sternberg.
Sternberg released I’ve Got Me, their sophomore album, earlier this year. The New York singer-songwriter also shared the single “Neighbors” back in October.
