Kylie Minogue has won the inaugural award for Best Pop Dance Recording at the 2024 Grammys with “Padam Padam,” taken from her album Tension. This is the first time this category has ever appeared at the award show. The Australian pop star beat out fellow nominees Bebe Rexha and David Guetta (“One in a Million”), Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding (“Miracle”), David Guetta, Anne-Marie, and Coi Leray (“Baby Don’t Hurt Me”), and Troye Sivan (“Rush”) for the historic win.
Though Minogue has been nominated six times over the years for her work, this is only her second win. Her first arrived back in 2004 when “Come Into My World” won Best Dance Recording at the 46th Grammy Awards. Tension is the 16th studio album of Minogue’s career, and “Padam Padam” was named one of the best songs of this year by Pitchfork.
